Call For Submissions for Walloon Writers Review Eighth Edition - February 1, 2023 - March 15, 2023 

Walloon Writers Review is a regional collection of short stories, poems, other forms of creative writing and nature photography celebrating the unique natural beauty of northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (aka:  the UP, Upper Michigan).  We publish one print edition annually.  Our magazine is open to submissions by all writers and photographers that live here year round or seasonally, have ties to the region or have visited and spent time here. 

 Submissions must be suitable for a General Audience. Our intent is to share well written stories, poems and beautiful photographic images of this amazing region and all the unique experiences found here.  By design, the magazine is intended to share on the porch reading table at the cottage, cabin bookshelf, at camp, in the Michigan section of bookstores and libraries. 

The upcoming Walloon Writers Review Eighth Edition (2023) will be edited by Founder and Editor Jennifer Huder and Associate Editor Glen Young. As an independent publication, the magazine is distributed to mostly Michigan independent bookstores, Bookshop.org, BarnesandNoble.com and Amazon.com and is also available at several public libraries.

Walloon Writers Review Eighth Edition Call For Submissions begins February 1, 2023 and runs through March 15, 2023.  Our focus is on this region and our suggested theme is outlined on our website at www.walloonwritersreview.com under the Submissions tab. Due to very limited resources, we can not offer feedback or comprehensive editing.  We welcome writers and photographers 'where they are' in their craft and are honored to have contributors at all stages of success - internationally published to first time submitters. Contributors retain their North American rights.  If your submission is selected for the Walloon Writers Review Eighth Edition, we will offer a window of fourteen days for withdrawal of submission after our deadline.  Please notify us via email at: editor@walloonwriters.com.   All work must be original to the submitter and if accepted, you are granting permission to Walloon Writers Review to reprint your work. Should you subsequently publish your included piece, we request that you mention "Previously published in Walloon Writers Review" citing edition and year. 

If your submission is published in this edition, you will receive one (1) free copy mailed to your address on file.
